Interview with Sarah, Tech Recruiter and Business Developer at BlueCoders

Victory : Hello Sarah delighted to have you with us today. To start, can you tell me about how you became a recruiter specializing in tech professions?

Sarah: It was completely by chance that I joined BlueCoders. At the time, I was finishing my license in communication at Assas University, and I had to make a decision for my master. Having always been very interested in the field of human resources, I decided to opt for a work -study master's degree. I didn't want to limit myself to theory alone. So I started to apply for work-study offers, and it was then that I was contacted by Célia, talent acquisition at Bluecoders. This marked the start of a rapid and extremely stimulating recruitment process, which quickly made me want to join the company.

Today, it's been almost a year since I am at Bluecoders, and I absolutely do not regret my choice, which has exceeded all my expectations. I entered the field of technology in a fortuitous way, and finally, I am extremely satisfied. I feel privileged to have experienced experience in a sector that is in great demand. This gives me some confidence, because I am now well prepared and competent in a growing field.

Victory: Can you tell us about the support and training you received to become an experienced tech recruiter?

Sarah: Within the company, we benefit from a personalized training course which benefits both juniors and seniors. Every day, I leave my work with the feeling of having learned something new.

When I arrived, I didn't even know what "stack" meant and I didn't understand much. Fortunately, I received a training course adapted to my level. I got to know the technology environment, programming languages, as well as good practices to interact with technical profiles. I also learned to qualify the needs of customers, to unravel candidates and to understand them more in depth. My training was led by Christophe our CEO and Cécilia who is a business manager. They included many practical workshops and shared listening sessions, which allowed me to receive constructive feedback on my work. I really appreciated this support and these many feedbacks which allowed me to progress quickly.

We were also accompanied by the training organization BlueCoders Academy which made us benefit from real coaching sessions to become code geniuses.

Victory : As a recruiter specializing in tech professions, you have to face a constantly evolving technological landscape. Can you tell us about the complexity of your profession and the challenges you face?

Sarah: Absolutely! The complexity of my job lies in the need to understand and stay up to date with the latest technological trends, programming languages, frameworks and skills sought by companies. Tech is a constantly evolving area, and it is essential for me to keep myself informed of the latest advances. Another challenge is to identify the technical skills and human qualities sought by companies. It is not only a question of finding candidates with technical expertise, but also of finding people who will integrate well into the culture of the company and who will have a positive impact on the team. Competition to attract the best talents in the tech sector is fierce. Highly qualified candidates often have several job offers, making the recruitment process more competitive. It is therefore essential to be proactive and to develop strategies to attract and retain talents.

Internally, we have an e-learning platform that allows us to deepen our knowledge of the subjects that pose us problem. You have to be proactive and get information.

Victory : You mentioned the importance of staying up to date with the latest technological trends. How do you sit down to remain informed in such an evolving field?

Sarah: To stay informed, I participate in conferences, events and technological meetups where I can exchange with industry professionals. In addition, I maintain close relationships with technical experts and tech professionals. I am in regular contact with developers, engineers and other specialized recruiters, which allows me to benefit from their knowledge and stay up to date on the latest advances. But ultimately, I think my greatest strength comes from the BlueCoders group which puts everything in place to stimulate us and teach us on this perpetual evolution market.

Victory : What motivates you in your job as a recruiter specializing in tech professions?

Sarah: What motivates me the most is the possibility of contributing to the construction of talented and efficient teams within technological companies. Finding the right talent and placing it in roles where they can excel and bring real added value is extremely rewarding. In addition, I really appreciate the dynamics of the tech universe. The speed with which new technologies are emerging, innovative projects and the passionate people with whom I am in contact make my work a constant and exciting adventure. In short, being a recruiter specializing in tech professions allows me to combine my recruitment skills and my passion for technologies, while helping to shape the technological landscape of tomorrow.

Victory: Can you tell us about your daily life as a tech recruiter? Do you use tools? What advice can you give?

In my work, I am a lot of LinkedIn and my phone, but especially Marvin, our ATS.

Sarah: In my work, I use LinkedIn and my phone a lot, but especially Marvin, our ATS. This tool was designed to meet our needs thanks to developments in functionalities specific to our activity. It is a complete tool that supports the whole recruitment process, from start to finish. Thanks to Marvin, I have access to all exchanges, information feedback, as well as my hunting and sourcing activities. Marvin's interface is very intuitive, which allowed me to take it in hand quickly. Honestly, I couldn't imagine working without Marvin. It is an essential tool that considerably facilitates my daily work.
